About The Editor-In-Chief!I would like to say Hello to all the web-readers as the new Editor-In-Chief of ModelAutoRacing.com. My background in Slot Car racing starts about 40 years ago with a Revell 1/32nd scale home set that my brother and I received for Christmas. It has been a long trip since that fateful Christmas day. When my parents allowed me to begin racing in commercial raceways around 1969, they were thick in the S.F. Bay area. You could almost throw a rock from one track to the next one. I saw the rise and fall of the National Championship Committee (NCC) and the beginnings of an upstart organization that called themselves the United Slot Racers Association (USRA). There have been various other organizations that have all claimed at one time or another to be the best, and I have raced with many of them.
I have raced the following scales:
I haven't had the pleasure of racing 1/43rd scale, but I am told the cars are very good quality. It seems to be a weird scale to me and there are not many parts out there for them. I currently do not race HO scale locally but still like to tinker with them. I hope to shape the direction of this web-zine to include everyone's favorite topics. To this end, I am looking for contributing writers to help fill these pages. I look forward to being around on the web so long as I have visitors to this site. let me know what you want to see and we'll see what happens!
